Getting Kidnapped!
Scary things out there…
keke series 1
From getting drenched by the rain earlier today to little little things trying to vex me, still on still. Newsletter will surface. LOL
I don’t think I am the only one who can relate to today’s newsletter and it is officially the first of the keke series.
I came across a video on one of these popular blogs on Instagram of a guy, sharing his experience of how he got kidnapped and Omo, you can never claim over wise.
I believe it is God’s protection over us because no matter how careful you try to be, it’s just God!.
I have been in different situations whereby I enter a vehicle or keke and I won’t say anything o, just because I don’t trust who I met, even the driver, pending when my car land from water.
And even when they try to exchange pleasantries, I nod or use my facial expression to communicate, at least I was taught that communication can be verbal and non verbal.
I do not speak because it’s not only “touch and follow o”, there’s talk and turn mumu.
These people will try starting up a conversation and once you respond, you become unaware of your next actions.
Let’s not talk of those that use to toast woman inside keke/public transport (lol, another day’s gist).
Atimes, when the keke driver is trying to be too friendly, I put on a serious look and feign distraction with my phone, e don do.
Now what’s this guy’s story?
He narrated that he came from Ibadan to Lagos for a modeling shoot.
Boarded the Lagos-Ibadan train and that he arrived safely. So while on his way to his final stop, in Lagos, someone who seemed like a foreigner tried starting up a conversation with him and asking for a road description/direction.
He explained that he nodded in negative as a sign of response, unknowingly it was planned with someone else.( this thing is sweet with audio coz even the guy recorded 8min + video to narrate his ordeal.
In summary, someone else walked up to him telling him how the foreigner could be a scam etc and what was the conversation with the so called foreigner about…
He got comfortable with Kidnapper 2, loosed guard and suddenly remembered nothing only to find himself in another location.
…(when he regained consciousness a bit)…
He asked people around where he was, and the wicked kidnappers gave him tfare after collecting his belongings, wristwatch and phone then told him to go home and bring his parents money and phones.
I have heard persons share similar experiences and it is scary.
How else do you want to be careful?
You think you are careful enough and they come up with another technique.
This guy knew not to talk to strangers but two persons pretended to be nice to him unknowingly they were both accomplice.
**He got helped by a stranger, so should we say everyone is a suspect?
The more preferred set of people to ask for descriptions are either the bus drivers or maybe traders and Infact you can’t be too certain of their intentions too.
I just thought to share this and how I won’t feel guilty anymore for not greeting persons I meet in keke.
Abuja people will make it look like we are fomilic, they greet everyone inside keke like you know from somewhere, I know it’s cool buttttt, my default self isn’t used to it.
I hope we continue to be safe and not fall victims of these evil persons.
What do you think of this?
Share your thoughts.
Henceforth, it is operation straight face and nods for me.
God will protect us all.
Yours Cruise and Truth
Always,
Nana.
